THE FAMILY – NURSES AT ATTLEBOROUGH
Veterinary Nursing Assistant/Student Anaesthesia Assistant
I have been at Uplands Way Vets since 2012 and I am based at both the bressingham and attleborough surgeries. I have worked in this industry for over 13 years and love every aspect of my job, I especially like helping the vets at the zoo’s with some of the amazing animals they have there!
I am a Qualified Veterinary Nursing Assistant and also hold 2 other Diplomas, one in Animal Science and another in Animal Managment and Care. I have also just enrolled on to a new course which is a Diploma in Monitoring Anaesthesia in small animals which I am very excited about!
In my spare time I enjoy riding and looking after my Irish sport horse Gem, I enjoy taking her to the woods for lovely long hacks and also for days out at the beach. I also have a Springer Spaniel called Lupo, three cats and two guinea pigs!
Hi, I’m Helena. I started practice in 2008 and joined uplands way may 2016. My main areas of interests are physiotherapy and rehabilitation and also training the students.
Outside of work I enjoy, reading, cooking and going on long walks with my husband and our dogs, Brian and Kuce.
I have been working with animals for several years in various places such as rescue centres, pet shops and a zoo as well as spending 3 years teaching animal care.
After 5 years working as a veterinary nurse, I became qualified in 2016. I have a keen interest in behaviour and nutrition and plan to gain qualifications in those areas in the future. I have 2 cats at home, Smokey who’s 21 years old and Oscar who we took in as a stray. I would have many more animals if my partner would allow it!
