THE FAMILY – OUR VETS

Andy Williamson

Principal Vet and Director

With over 25 years experience treating many different animals there aren’t many things I don’t feel confident to tackle. Surgery on frogs, arthritic rhinos and floating an anaesthetised cow down a river to name a few of the more unusual cases as well as lots of more routine work with cats dogs horses and farm animals.

These days most of my time is spent with horses and exotics, I particularly enjoy the equine welfare work I do with World Horse Welfare and the RSPCA, often very challenging but very rewarding!

Outside work I enjoy sailing with my wife, two dogs and the captain, our four year old daughter.

Nicole Williamson

Practice Manager

I started at Uplands Way Vets about 11 years ago. I was lucky enough to train as a Veterinary Nurse which I did for a number of years before I became Practice Manager.

I had a break from work while I had my daughter and have now been back for about 18 months. I love my job and the buzz of working with such a great team of people, no two days are ever the same!

At home we have two Pugs and four Tortoises. When we get some spare time it is taken up with the usual family activities, plus sailing when the weather allows!

Catriona Wyllie

Vet

I graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2009. I worked in a mixed practice in Lincolnshire for just over 2 years before deciding that I wanted to be closer to my family and joined Uplands Way Vets in August 2012. I enjoy the variety of work we have at Uplands Way and the challenges that mixed practice presents. I am currently working towards a certificate in small animal medicine. Away from work I love spending time with my horse Cassie.

Amelia Duncanson

Vet

Having grown up in North Norfolk I am pleased to be back in the county. I graduated from Cambridge Vet School where I also gained a degree in Zoology. I am now enjoying life in the country and often feel like I’ve walked straight out of a James Heriot novel!

Outside of work I enjoy travelling and playing team sports but can often be seen jogging in fluorescent lycra around the local area. I am yet to choose which type of animal would be my favourite pet so I am enjoying looking after all of yours. I love the variety of work seen at Uplands Way and every day is different from the last.

Georgina Torregrosa-Roig

Vet

I graduated in Barcelona in 2000 as a vet and following this began an equine internship. After completing this, I began working as an equine vet in Barcelona, where I stayed until coming over to the UK in 2012. I am predominantly an equine vet but I enjoy seeing small animals too, especially cats as I have one myself called Mali who travelled over from Spain to live with me.

James Blanshard

Vet

I graduated from the R (D) SVS in 2003 and after several years in a mixed practice in the UK I moved to Hong Kong where I spent the next 10 years. I have completed a post graduate training position at the Calgary Zoo and the University of Calgary, Canada and I have done work for various zoological and wildlife institutions as well as cofounding an exotic animal hospital in Hong Kong.

I moved back to the UK in 2015 and I am happy to make Norfolk my home. I very much enjoy all aspects of mixed practice and find the variety of work at Uplands Way Vets to be the best part of the job, as well as the fantastic and very committed team.

In my spare time I like to spend quality time with my lovely wife, baby boy and 2 dogs (who are very well travelled, having lived in Hong Kong, Canada and the UK!)

Janine Healey

Vet

I graduated from Nottingham Veterinary School as a mature post graduate, having previously obtained a degree in Equine Science from the University of Essex. I am pleased to be back in East Anglia after spending time in Derbyshire in mixed practice and really enjoy the variety of animals we see at Uplands, as well as being part of a fantastic team.

When not at work I can be found trying to keep up with my daughter, riding my horse Rhubarb or walking my two weimaraners.

Chiara Bonomi

Intern Vet – Bressingham

I graduated from the University of Milano in 2014, and after working in Italy I decided to come to England to widen my experience and improve my skills.

I grew up in the Italian countryside surrounded by animals and rice fields, and since I was a little girl I have always wanted to become a vet; now English countryside has greeted me and I must say I’m quite enjoying it!

Biel Fiol

Intern Vet

I graduated in Barcelona in 2014 having previously gained a degree in computer software engineering.

I joined the Uplands Way family in September 2016 and began my internship in February 2017.

Previously I worked in Spain as an intern at an equine hospital which I thoroughly enjoyed.
