Repeat Prescriptions
A veterinary surgeon can only prescribe prescription medication for animals under their care.
For flea and worming treatment, an animal must have been seen by a veterinary surgeon in the previous 12 months.
In the case of a repeat prescription of medication for a stabilised case, the veterinary surgeon will need to re-examine the patient regularly.
The length of time between these checks will be determined by the veterinary surgeon and dependent on the patient and the diagnosed condition.
There is a fee for this examination.
The vet needs to feel confident in the state of health of your pet before prescribing a medication.
You may ask for a written prescription to obtain your medication from another pharmacy/veterinary surgeon.
There is a charge for a written prescription.
We require 48 hours’ notice for all prescription requests.
