Meet the Team

Our caring, friendly and professional team at Uplands Way Vets, consists of Client Care professionals, Veterinary Care Assistants, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Surgeons and Administrative professionals. Each member of our team cares deeply about animal welfare and will treat your pet as if they were their own.

Recently we have been working with the team from Oakwood Vets to extend our services to our clients, you might see some familiar faces working between both the Bressingham and Harleston surgeries.

  • Trudy-Musgrove-Oakwood-Web

    Trudy

    Clinical Director

    BVSc CertAVP(VetGP) MRCVS

    Trudy qualified from Bristol University in 1994 and spent the early part of her career in mixed practices in Yorkshire, Cheshire and Cornwall. She moved to Norfolk in 1997 and has since worked in small animal practices in the Norfolk and Norwich area.

    In 2010 she obtained a Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practice and in 2015 she joined Oakwood, becoming Clinical Director in 2018.

    From early 2025, she also took on the role of Clinical Director for Uplands Way Vets and is now sharing her time and knowledge across the two practices.

    Trudy likes working with both dogs and cats, and enjoys the mix of client consultations, medical and surgical cases that make up an average day. She also enjoys supporting early career vets and helping them to develop their skills and thrive in all the different areas of veterinary practice.

    In her spare time, Trudy enjoys walks with her dog and planning wildlife watching holidays with her husband.

    Clare

    Practice Manager

    Clare started as a nursing student at our Attleborough branch in 1999. She qualified in 2002 and has worked at a variety of practices since then as both a Veterinary Nurse and a Head Veterinary Nurse.

    She started working as a Practice Manager in 2010 and returned to Uplands Way in 2018.

    She recently gained a Certificate in Veterinary Leadership and Management

    She has a ferret called Hoyt, a grumpy 19 year old tortoiseshell called Kate, and a ginger cat called Carter.

    Emily

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BA VetMB MRCVS

    Emily graduated in 2021 from the University of Cambridge

    She has a particular love of cats and feline care. As well as helping Oakwood Vets gain Silver Cat Friendly Clinic status from the International Cat Care Vet Society, she is also undertaking a certificate in Feline Medicine.

    In her spare time, she helps at a local Brownies group and is looking forward to getting a rescue cat of her own.

    Karin

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVSc MRCVS

    Karin qualified from the University of Pretoria in December 2016 and spent her first year as a vet working in a rural small animal clinic for the South African government.

    In 2018 she moved to the UK and has been working here ever since as a veterinary surgeon in clinical and non-clinical roles.

    She has interests in ophthalmology and clinical pathology and particularly enjoys meeting and caring for feline patients.

    In her spare time, she enjoys walking in the countryside with her husband, cooking and baking and playing with her two cats, Charles and Nadja.

    Lauren

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVSc MRCVS

    Lauren moved to the UK in January 2024 immediately after finishing her veterinary degree at Pretoria University in South Africa.

    After working at Oakwood Vets initially we are now lucky to have her also working with us here at Uplands Way Vets.

    Lauren enjoys all aspects of general practice work, and in her spare time is starting to explore the local countryside and travel a little further afield in the UK and Europe.

    Abigail

    Veterinary Surgeon

    VetMB MRCVS

    Abi graduated from Cambridge in 2024 . 

    She has a particular interest in surgery and is enjoying developing her surgical skills. in all areas of small animal veterinary work. 

    When not working, Abi enjoys travelling, spending time in the countryside and she plays in a local orchestra.

    At home, Abi has a recently adopted cat who keeps her busy.

    Lauren

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVSc PGCert(SAS) MRCVS

    Lauren trained in Australia and moved to the UK in 2019. Lauren joined the Oakwood Vets team in 2020 and the Uplands Way Team in 2025 Lauren holds a post-graduate certificate in surgery.

    In her spare time she enjoys running, hiking, travelling and being outdoors.

    Lauren and her husband have a spaniel cross called Kenny who keeps them very busy!

  • Chloe Cassie

    Chloe

    Veterinary Surgeon

    BVetMed MRCVS

    Chloe graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2023 and joined the team in February 2025.

    Whilst she enjoys seeing all manner of patients, she has developed a keen interest in dentistry and ultrasound.

    In her spare time, you can find her at the workshop converting her campervan, or out walking with her partner Grace and lovely labradoodle Winnie.

    Head Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Emily joined Uplands Way in 2015 and has been leading the small animal nursing team since 2018.

    She is particularly interested in wildlife, inpatient care and offering exceptional customer service.

    She has a penchant for old rescues of all shapes and sizes, resulting in a vast menagerie of animals ranging from a flock of chickens, to rats, to dogs and cats!

    Her side hustle is making and selling items inspired by the things she finds on dogs walks and various jaunts around the country.

    Shannon

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Shannon joined Uplands at the end of 2020 after recently qualifying as a veterinary nurse. She has particular interests in feline nursing, laboratory diagnostics and inpatient care.

    Shannon has two rescue cats both acquired from working within veterancy practice, called Pickle and Chutney.

    In her spare time, Shannon enjoys gaming, the outdoors and being creative by making one-of-a-kind pieces out of resin.

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Esme is a newly qualified nurse who has been working at uplands for 3 years during her degree.

    Esme particularly enjoys caring for hospitalised patients and doing nurse consultations.

    Out of work, Esme loves attending festivals and music concerts. When she’s not dancing in a crowd, Esme spends time with her dog Hector, together they often go for beach walks around the Norfolk coast.

    Registered Veterinary Nurse

    Charlotte started nursing in 2017 and joined Uplands Way in July 2022 after recently qualifying from Dick White Academy. She has a particular interest in exotics and radiography.

    She has a Pug called Maverick and loves taking him on adventures, especially to the beach.

    She also enjoys travelling, baking and spending time with friends.

    Student Veterinary Nurse

    As of September 2022 I began my studies as a student veterinary nurse at the College of Animal Welfare, Cambridge Campus. I have a BSc hons Degree in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and a Level 3 National Diploma in Animal Care and Management. All my life I have wanted to do everything I could to protect and save animals and the environment. I have a background in various animal care roles, wildlife rescue/rehabilitation, conservation and I have worked with animals all round the world. I have 3 rescue ferrets and in my spare time I enjoy snowboarding, visiting new places and creating up-cycled Art.

    Veterinary Care Assistant

    Amy has been volunteering at Uplands since September 2020 and is now training to be a Veterinary Care Assistant.

    When she’s not at the vets she is busy raising her 4 children who ask her hundreds of questions about the animals she encounters at work. She has 3 cats, 3 guinea pigs and 2 rabbits of her own and in her spare time she enjoys walking, gardening, drinking a cup of tea in peace and sleeping.

    Veterinary Care Assistant

    Stacey has been at Uplands since October 2017. She has always had a passion for animals. She has previously worked in the equine industry for 9 years and has worked within the veterinary industry as a receptionist for the past 3 years. She loves her job,and her lifelong dream is to become a small animal veterinary nurse.

    An interesting fact? She used to live in the USA!

    Kennel Assistant

    Rebecca has been working at Uplands Way Vets for 5 years. She adores cats and has 2 of her own. She also has guinea pigs, hamsters and tropical fish at home which she looks after with the help of her two daughters. She enjoys long walks and meeting friends for coffee.

    Head of Client Care Team

    Marta joined the client care team in 2021. She is currently completing her final year of an Animal Behaviour degree. Her main interests are dog behaviour and training. She has a goldendoodle called Bruce who loves mind games and running around in the woods. Bruce goes on every holiday with Marta and her partner.

    Client Care Team

    Helen started with Uplands Way in September 2006 at the Stanton branch and transferred to the Bressingham branch in 2020. Brought up in a farming environment she has always been surrounded by animals. Helen has 4 llamas, a retired racehorse, 10 cows, 2 geese and a cat! One day she hopes to learn how to spin the llama fibre and make something useful!

    Marie joins our team with 20 years experience in customer care. She lives in Upper Marham with her partner, their 3 cats, Merlin, Winnie, Mickey and new puppy Roo. As you can tell by their names she loves Disney!

    Client Care Team

    Gaby has always had an interest in animals and had lots of pets throughout her childhood. She currently has a dog, 2 cats, a chicken, a rabbit, a cockatiel, and many fish. In her spare time, she likes to read and spend time with her friends, family, and pets. She also enjoys listening to music. Her favourite animals are pigs.

    Accounts Assistant

    Lisa joined us in 2019 having worked as a veterinary receptionist since 2003. She has years of experience in various aspects of the veterinary world and particularly enjoys solving account queries and insurance claims. Although she doesn’t currently have any pets, she has two young children that keep her on her toes. Lisa enjoys baking, embroidery and reading in her spare time, if she ever gets five minutes peace!

    Hadleigh

    Caretaker

    Hadleigh works hard to keep our practice in tip top shape and functioning well. In his spare time he likes to take part in various running events and obstacle courses.
